Why The Date Post Exists

We built a dating app that only shows people free for a date today, in your city, who want to meet at a real public venue.

We built it to help people find friendships and love — the kind that start with a real plan, in a real place, on a real day. We believe technology should bring people closer together, not keep them scrolling forever.

Real connections. Wherever you are.

How It Works

Three steps. Sixty seconds. Possibly a date.

The whole product, end to end. We've kept the moving parts down on purpose.

1.

Verify once, last all year

Government ID + selfie. Takes 60 seconds. Required of everyone — listees and askers both. The selfie becomes your profile photo. Your ID is encrypted and never shown to other users.

✓ Required for everyone
2.

List for $6.99 or browse for free

Pay $6.99 to put your bio on the page until midnight. Or browse for free and ask whoever you'd like to meet. Asks are pre-authorized at $6.99 — you're charged only if they accept.

⏱ Same-day listings, hard cap at midnight
3.

Meet at a vetted venue

When someone accepts, you both get the venue, time, and meet details. Curated public places only — no private addresses, ever. Panic button, trusted-contact alerts, and check-ins are one tap away the whole time.

🛡️ Safety tools always visible

The Pact

The promises we make to ourselves before we make them to you.

A list of things The Date Post will not do, ever, written down so we have to mean it.

01
We will never become an escort marketplace. Solicitation is screened pre-publish, reviewed by humans, and grounds for a permanent ban. The platform is the introduction, not a transaction.
02
We will never sell your data. Not to advertisers, not to brokers, not to third-party "matching" services. Your IDs, your messages, your meeting venues — all stay with us, encrypted, used only to keep you safe.
03
We will never add boosts or premium tiers. The moment we add "boost to top of page" we've recreated Tinder and lost the differentiator. Revenue grows from venue partnerships, not user upsells.
04
We will never auto-renew a listing. Stale listings — people who listed at noon and forgot — break the trust premise. Re-listing is always a deliberate, paid action.
FAQ

Things everyone asks.

Tinder and Hinge optimize for the swipe — a low-commitment, low-cost game where most matches never meet. The Date Post inverts that: paying $6.99 to list filters out people who aren't serious about meeting today. Listings expire at midnight, so the page is always people who are actually free today, never a graveyard of half-interested profiles.
Three reasons. First, it filters. People who pay $6.99 are serious about meeting today — bots, catfish, and tire-kickers self-deselect. Second, it funds verification — every listing pays for ID checks, moderation, and the curated venue list. Third, it lets us never sell your data. Free apps make money by selling you; paid apps don't have to.
No, and we've designed every part of the platform against becoming one. Bios are screened pre-publish for solicitation language. Reports of compensated arrangements are reviewed within 4 hours and result in a permanent ban. The pricing is symmetric — askers also pay — so it doesn't function as a directory of paid availability. The pact above is a real commitment, not marketing copy.
Either party can report a no-show within 60 minutes of the agreed meet time. The other side has 30 minutes to respond. If confirmed, the asker's $6.99 is auto-refunded and the no-shower gets a strike. Three strikes = 90-day ban. Strikes expire individually after 12 months. False reports are also reviewed and penalized.
Government ID (passport, driver's license, or provincial ID) plus a selfie. We match the two — your selfie becomes your profile photo, the ID stays encrypted and never visible to other users. Verification is good for 12 months. Without it you can't list, can't ask, and can't see full bios. This is the platform's safety floor.
Two protections, both as in-app credit (we don't refund cash — keeps chargebacks simple). If you list and your listing expires at midnight having received zero asks, you automatically get 50% credit toward a future listing — provided you were live for at least four hours. If you pull your listing down early (changed your mind, didn't like the energy), you get 75% of your unused wall-clock time back as credit. Either way: visibility you didn't get becomes value you can use later. The one scenario that doesn't earn credit is when you got asks and declined them all — that's using the product, just being selective.
One active listing at a time, tied to your verified ID. You can change cities between listings, but you can't appear in two cities at once. This keeps the page honest — every listing is "yes, I'm actually free in this city today."
The Date Post is built for every city in the picker at the top of the page. Each city opens when it passes our six-gate readiness check (public venues mapped, crisis resources wired, moderation coverage in place, local legal review, payment processing confirmed, smoke-tested end-to-end flow). Until then, your city's waitlist captures interest. The cities with the strongest waitlist signal get prioritized for the readiness work. We won't promise specific dates — we'd rather open later than open badly.

Be on the page today.

Tell us your city. We'll let you know the day we open it, plus offer first-week credits. The cities with the strongest waitlist signal get our readiness work first.
